Lexent Metro Connect, LLC provides enterprise customers and service providers in New York City and its surrounding boroughs with state of the art, custom built, dark fiber optic networks. As a leading provider of dark fiber networks in the New York Metropolitan area, Lexent is the only fiber provider that owns, operates, builds and maintains its own dark fiber network in-house.
Lexent provides its customers with the option to leverage an existing dark fiber network as an extension of their own, or to build a new, dedicated private fiber network throughout the City and its surrounding areas. Lexent also provides direct connectivity to carrier-neutral colocation facilities, enabling Freedom of Choice in pursuing wholesale buying of Network Services. Lexent's ever-growing network provides diverse connectivity between regional Carrier Hotels, Central Offices and Enterprise Buildings. In 2002, Lexent Metro Connect developed a New York Fiber Network that, to-date, spans over 150 route-miles, includes Hudson and East River “Bore” crossings, and supports over 100 commercial buildings. Gaining a franchise for local, high capacity telecommunications services in 2002, Lexent Metro Connect is positioned as one of the foremost, ‘design-and-build’ telecommunications companies in the New York metropolitan area. Today, Lexent Metro Connect leases its wholly owned fiber backbone to carrier and enterprise customers while continuing to build out new, purpose-built, dark fiber networks for customers looking for innovative solutions to network challenges.
